The rankings were based on millions of stolen passwords posted online by hackers.
SplashData, which was founded in 2000, provides consumer and business applications that manage passwords, digital photos and financial accounts for computers and mobile devices.
The app solution maker also gave some tips for choosing secure passwords:
1. Vary different types of characters in your passwords; include numbers, letters and special characters when possible (Gumamit ng iba’t-ibang uri ng mga character sa iyong mga password, isama ang mga numero, mga titik at mga espesyal na karakter kapag posible).
2. Choose passwords of eight characters or more.
3. Don’t use the same password and username combination for multiple websites.
